Friendly Santa. Short line weekdays or early in the season, but weekends close to Christmas can be very busy. You can book a time online and cut the line with a reservation (Packages $40-$50). Historically, basic packages are also available for walk-ins; check ahead for details. Details here

Very popular and crowded, so go as early as possible, get a ticket (free) for a return time, and explore their winter wonderland, crafts, and activities, or even go out to dinner while waiting. “Each year our Elves transform our greenhouse into a Winter Wonderland. Explore the magical winter forest, watch the Weston Nurseries Express wind its way along the tracks, and write a letter to the North Pole and post it in our magic mailbox.” Bring your own camera, donations are accepted for Project Just Because. Take your own FREE picture with a very kind, friendly Santa at his house in the commons in downtown Walpole. No wait most weekdays, varied on weekends.

Festival of Trees & Snow Village at Elm Bank, Wellesley

Festival Open (weather permitting):
No Santa Wednesdays or Thursdays
The festival itself includes 65 decorated trees to enjoy, wagon rides (limited times), and “enchanting displays with model trains winding through villages and vignettes, including Christmas in the City (Boston of course!), Fenway Park, and hundreds of decorated houses and lights.” Admission is $15 for ages 12+, free for children.
